Automatic payments are a way for your utility bill paid automatically using a designated credit card, debit card, or bank account. This service is provided free of charge by the City of Bend, using the most up-to-date security measures to ensure the safety and security of your payment information. You will still receive your regular monthly utility statement, indicating the amount that is scheduled to be automatically paid, and the date that it is due.

For your convenience, we offer the following forms of automatic payments through Invoice Cloud, our online customer portal:

• AutoPay is a convenient way to have your utility bill paid automatically each month. It will deduct the balance of your account on your bill's due date, to ensure that you never have to worry about late payments.
• Recurring Payments allow you to specify a date that your bill will be paid each month.The balance on your account will be deducted automatically every month, on the specific date that you have chosen.
• Scheduled Payments are one-time automatic payments. You can choose a date, method of payment, and the amount to pay. When the specified date occurs, the single payment will be automatically processed.

Our pay by text option offers you the convenience of receiving text notifications about your bill, which can then be paid with a text message reply. This is a simple, secure way to pay your bill and ensure that you are never late.

The City of Bend offers this service free of charge, however be aware that depending on your cellphone plan, your carrier may charge standard message rates and data charges to receive these messages.

Invoice Cloud, our online customer portal, provides a safe, easy, and convenient way for you to pay your City of Bend utility bills online. With this online payment system, you can use the following methods to pay any outstanding balances on your account:

While registering for an Invoice Cloud account is not required to make an online payment, it is highly recommended for your convenience. Registering your utility account online will allow you to save payment methods for future use, view current and previous statements, and sign up for automatic payments or paperless statements.

Customer Service representatives are available Monday through Friday, except major holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to take your payment. We are able to process payments by credit card or debit card.

Payments can also be made through our automated phone payment system 7 days a week between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. by credit card or debit card.

For your convenience, we provide multiple secure drop boxes, which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payments are picked up and processed every weekday, except major holidays.

Our drop boxes can be found in the following locations:

• City Hall Parking Lot (Drive-Up): Our drive-up dropbox is located in the City Hall – Wall Street parking lot at 710 NW Wall Street.
• Outside Utility Billing Office (Walk-Up): Our walk-up drop box is available right in front of our office, at 639 NW Franklin Avenue. This is located just outside our lobby doors.

Checks or money orders should be made payable to City of Bend. Including your statement coupon with your payment will ensure that it is applied to the correct account.

Checks should be made out to City of Bend and make sure you include your statement coupon. If paying for multiple locations, it is helpful to include the stub that details what portion of the check should pay for each individual account.

Why Do Payments Go to Seattle?

In March 2013 the City of Bend changed our utility payment mailing address to a Seattle PO Box. Utility payments were previously processed by the Bank of the Cascades. The bank no longer provided this service locally and outsourced it to Retail Lockbox Inc, a company located in Seattle. As a result, Retail Lockbox Inc began processing City of Bend utility payments. To better serve our customers, the City rents a Seattle post office box, so that payments can travel directly to Retail Lockbox in Seattle.
