We are a full time paid municipal fire department that serves the residents and visitors of Bend. Through a unique partnership with Deschutes Rural Fire Protection District #2, we also serve the residents outside of the city limits.

We take pride in our EMS delivery, utilizing both Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support ambulances. BF&R is proud to be an American Heart Association “Gold” award recipient for our cardiac survival numbers, which are among the best in the nation. In addition to progressive EMS service delivery, BF&R also provides outstanding service in structural and wildland fire suppression, fire prevention and investigation, public education, technical rescue, and hazardous materials response.
