Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program
The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) includes transportation projects expected over the next four years within the BMPO area.
MTIP
The MTIP is a short-range listing of transportation projects expected to be delivered within the BMPO over a four-year period. The BMPO develops a new MTIP every three years, with each MTIP overlapping by one year. This overlap is due to the practice of listing tentative information in the final year of one MTIP then providing confirmed plans for that same year in the subsequent MTIP.
Amendments to the current MTIP are processed as needed and may apply to project details such as cost, scope, or location. Amended projects have been reviewed and approved and are typically making forward progress.
- 2024-2027 MTIP (adopted 5/19/2023)
- 2024-2027 MTIP Project List - Amended (as of 7/25/2025)
- 2024-2027 MTIP Amendment Log (as of 7/25/2025)
- 2021-2024 MTIP (adopted 4/21/2020)
There is an active public comment period for amendments to the 2024-2027 MTIP. The comment period is open through December 11, 2025. For more information, refer to the BMPO Transportation Project Amendments - Public Comment Period news release, dated November 21, 2025.
Projects in the MTIP can also be viewed on a map via the ODOT Transportation Project Tracker. For additional information, including amendment details, visit the ODOT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) webpage.
Annual Obligation Report
An annual obligation report is a listing of the transportation projects for which federal funding was obligated within a federal fiscal year. MPOs are federally required to develop this report each year. The purpose of the report is to increase transparency and public understanding of how federal funds are spent on transportation projects.
