The Building Safety Division will complete the building plan review and inspections for your ADU. We have provided this Quick Guide to help you better understand the process.

Septic Authorizations

The Private Development Engineering Division is here to assist with Septic Authorizations and any questions about franchise utilities.

A Septic Authorization Form is needed for properties using a septic system and desiring to add an ADU. This form is to be completed and then uploaded as part of an application for an Engineering Permit in the Online Permit Center Portal.

  1. Under Choose the application type, select Septic Authorization Form.
  2. Complete the application and upload the completed form.
    • NOTE: Only three sections are required to be filled out on this form:
      • Applicant Information
      • Property Information
      • Summary of Use Requested
