Residents in the Tapadera and Benham South areas applied to the City of Bend Septic to Sewer Conversion Program to install public sewer in their neighborhoods. In 2022, the areas were selected by the Septic to Sewer Committee for design and construction. The project name is Silver Sage Sewer Project (1SN06) and includes the following areas:

  • Tapadera application area
  • Benham South application area
  • Abutting cul-de-sacs

Gravity sewer mains and sewer laterals will be installed in each area to allow approximately 63 properties to decommission their septic systems and connect to the public sewer system. While the City prioritizes gravity sewer where feasible, there are areas of this project that resulted in pressure sewer and laterals due to the topography of the area.

More information about the Septic to Sewer Program (fees, other projects, permits, etc.) is available online.
