Bend’s drinking water collected from the Bridge Creek watershed area is currently safe and unaffected by the Cougar Butte Fire burning in the Tumalo Creek drainage area about 11 miles west of Bend. The fire has grown to over 150 acres and is moving west away from the City of Bend watershed and water intake facility.

The Weekly Road and Traffic Report begins for 2017. The City of Bend will be releasing a weekly road and traffic report each Friday during peak construction season to help travelers plan the quickest, safest and most reliable routes to their destinations. This weekly report is intended to provide information about various projects within the City that impact traffic.

Daytime construction for sewer installation on Neff Road between Medical Center Drive and 27th Street is scheduled to begin Monday, March 6. The westbound lane on Neff Road between Medical Center Drive and 27th Street will be closed to all traffic.

The warm weather is helping the City clearing the slush off the streets. Streets cleaning equipment in the region is out clearing slush on roadways in an efficient, targeted effort that prioritizes problem areas.

Beginning the week of December 12, the northbound lane on 27th Street between Reed Market Road and Bear Creek Road will be closed. This is the beginning of an extended lane closure to accommodate a sewer line construction project.
