Franklin Avenue and 8th/9th Street roundabout rebuild
The City of Bend is rebuilding the roundabout at Franklin Avenue and 8th/9th Street, starting August 15, 2016. The project will be completed by September 2, 2016, before school starts.

City Council Approves Affordable Housing Contributions
On July 20, the City Council approved a number of actions that result in increased affordable housing supply in Bend. The City of Bend is the only city in Oregon that allocates this level of local revenue to affordable housing projects.

Bend City Council Adopts Goals for 2021-23
Housing supply, transportation improvements and effective City government remain top priorities in the City Council’s new two-year goal plan. Additional goals this biennium include equity, justice, environmental stewardship and addressing homelessness. The goals reflect the Council’s priorities.

Weather Emergency Declared to Increase Shelter Capacity in Bend
The declaration allows the use of approved alternative shelter facilities to provide emergency overnight lodging when the temperature is expected to be below 25 degrees Fahrenheit and all Bend area shelter facilities have reached capacity.
