Weekly Road and Traffic Report

This is our final weekly road report for the season. We’ll be back in the spring of 2018.

  1. The City’s annual street preservation work for the season is wrapped up. During this 2017 construction season, they City’s Streets and Operations Department preserved 94 lane miles of pavement:
    • Slurry Seals: 56 lane miles
    • Chip Seals: 15 lane miles
    • Overlays: 23 miles
    • Crews also repaired 1,561 potholes, swept 2,987 lane miles, built 169 ADA ramps, painted 128 miles of yellow center line and 478 miles of white fog line.
  2. And, the other great news: the 27th Street corridor is completely open – far ahead of our anticipated completion date! The City resurfaced 27th Street from Reed Market Road to Ferguson earlier this week. Reed Market is also completely open. Thank you, community, for your patience during this crucial public infrastructure project!

A couple caveats:

  • The intersection of 27th Street and Neff Road requires resurfacing and other finishing tasks. Night work at this intersection will be underway and completed during the four day stretch beginning Monday October 2. During this time, flaggers will assist with traffic flows in and around this area.
  • Purcell Blvd work is scheduled to begin the week of October 9. During this time, Purcell will be closed to northbound traffic between Neff Road and Full Moon Drive. Additionally ‘No Parking’ signs will be installed on this same segment.
  • The Neff/Purcell Sewer Line segment project website is here for further information.
