These elected policymakers invest their time and dedicate energy to planning for Bend’s future and providing essential services for Bend residents.

In Bend, the City Councilors and the Mayor are elected by the voters to serve four-year terms. The Mayor leads the City Council meetings and acts as an ambassador for the city. The Councilors choose one of the elected City Councilors to be the Mayor Pro Tem.

As stewards of the city, the Council is accountable to the people of Bend and responsible for providing excellent city services. City Council is committed to serving everyone fairly, creating a more connected community, and preserving Bend’s spirit as we grow. Council strives to achieve equity and justice for everyone in Bend.

The Council believes that Bend can be a city for everyone, where we all share in the prosperity and promise of this unique and beautiful place. They honor the people who came before us on these lands and recognize that the health of our community depends on the health of our environment.
