These elected policymakers invest their time and dedicate energy to planning for Bend’s future and providing essential services for Bend residents.

In Bend, the City Councilors and the Mayor are elected by the voters to serve four-year terms. The Mayor leads the City Council meetings and acts as an ambassador for the city. The Councilors choose one of the elected City Councilors to be the Mayor Pro Tem.

As stewards of the city, the Council is accountable to the people of Bend and responsible for providing excellent city services. City Council is committed to serving everyone fairly, creating a more connected community, and preserving Bend’s spirit as we grow. Council strives to achieve equity and justice for everyone in Bend.

The Council believes that Bend can be a city for everyone, where we all share in the prosperity and promise of this unique and beautiful place. They honor the people who came before us on these lands and recognize that the health of our community depends on the health of our environment.

Meetings

The City Council meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. for a Business Meeting, and on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for a Work Session, unless otherwise noted. Check the calendar for details.

City Council meetings are held at the City of Bend Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 710 NW Wall Street. The public can join in person or virtually.

Meetings are broadcast live on the City's website and on COTV Channel 11.

The City of Bend City Council is committed to thoughtful leadership and delivering essential services that support everyone in our community. The 2025-27 goals are shaped by community input and focus on creating equitable access to services and opportunities for Bend community members.

Council Subcommittees

The City Council has four subcommittees: Community Building, Stewardship, Public Contracts, and the Audit Subcommittee. Each one focuses on various parts of city policy, planning, and decision-making. These subcommittees also give Council advisory boards and committees more chances to share their ideas and help shape the Council's decisions through discussions.
